Organization and Management
Coaching abilities in terms of organization are vital to a teams success on and off the field and that starts in the weight room. The players believe they can rely on their coach to "find a way" for them to succeed. Most great coaches also have the ability to manage and communicate effectively with their coaching staff and players.
In particular, sports management includes the oversight of essentially all parts of an athletic program. From player development, general planning, player safety and structure. Being responsible for your players' training and development in the weight room can be demanding. With targeted training, players can not only individually but collectively elevate their game by focusing their lifting and exercises that correlate to on field aspects.
Technology has changed sports organization making time efficiency easier, setting the stage a lot simpler. Being able to assign workouts to players before arrival saves time and gears your focus. The first 3 minutes of a team workout is important, setting the tone and leading the group and effecting the rest of training. “Be the thermostat”, set the mood in the room. Set the intensity that needs to be there. Do simple better, It is about progression. Have the “If it's wrong, fix it” mentality.
