This session covers the consideration and potential approaches to halftime team talks from a practical and research-based standpoint. Drawing upon international field hockey team talk research, David Passmore presents the key components coaches should consider when imparting information at halftime, increasing team's second-half potential.

David Passmore works with the Hockey Ireland's Senior Women squad who just finished a historic run to the gold medal game of the 2018 FIH World Cup where they finished second and is the head coach of the Irish U23 and U21 teams. Passmore has coached field hockey at every level, from elite international men’s and women’s teams to youth national squads in both Ireland and Great Britain. Passmore has a professional doctorate in elite performance from the University of Central Lancashire and a master’s degree in Sports Coaching. He is currently an associate professor of coaching science at Dublin City University.
