I interviewed a Head Football Coach at the NCAA level about the resumes he received after a job post. This was from a hire that I call a "paper hire."  This means that this Head Coach was actually hiring from resumes, not from a pool of applicants whom he had any connection to.  Many times, this is how you get into the college level, you have to know somebody.  But this coach wanted to hire two Graduate Assistants (GAs) straight from resumes.  It was very interesting feedback that I received from him.  Some real takeaways that I have also seen many times over at the high school level as well.
