I emphasize the importance of well-balanced meals, hydration, and strategic snacking, recommending three meals plus two snacks daily, and a carbohydrate-rich snack 15 to 30 minutes before practice. I also highlight the need to drink half your body weight in fluid ounces each day and to consume anti-inflammatory foods post-practice. These tips have proven effective with our high school athletes, leading to increased energy and faster recovery. I encourage you to implement these strategies and educate your athletes on proper nutrition.
