Lesson 4:
04 Script Sequencing and Constraint Plays
Script Sequencing
Questions You Must Answer for Script Sequencing
What defensive structure are we expecting? (Man vs Zone? 1-high vs 2-high?)
How will the defense adjust to the motion? (Travel? Bump? Rotate?)
Who becomes the conflict defender? (Apex-Overhang? Inside Linebacker? Safety? Defensive End?)
What is the next call off this same motion? (Sequence response?, Personnel adjustment?)
How do we punish their adjustment? (Constraint response?)
Can we show the same picture with a different outcome? (Do we marry Play A to Play B?)
Do we carry multiple Sequenced scripts? (Base w/Shift NO motion?, Base w/motion ONLY
Constraint Plays
Where and how do they fit into our script sequencing. We’re going to study constraint plays through three critical lenses—numbers, leverage, and reaction—so we can systematically attack how defenses align, how they fit the run, and how they respond once the ball is snapped.

Too often, play calling becomes reactive, allowing the defense to dictate the game. This course shows you how to flip that script. Coach Scott Criner teaches a proven system to protect your base offense while forcing defenses into con...
