Dr. Pat Ivey (Coach) | Louisville
Dr. Pat Ivey is currently the Assistant VP/ Associate Athletics Director for Student Athlete Health and Performance at the University of Louisville. He oversees the departments of Sports Medicine, Sports Performance, Sports Nutrition, Mental Health and Performance, and Sports Science. Dr. Ivey is also currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Missouri, teaching a course in Foundations of Sport Performance via an online Master’s program in Positive Coaching. Dr. Ivey has also served at the University of Missouri as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Access and Leadership Development. In this role, he assisted with Community Engagement, Legislative Relations, and K-12 pipelining and programming. Pat Ivey lettered as a defensive end at Missouri from 1993-95. In 1995, he was honored as being the strongest athlete in the history of Missouri. In 1996, he was signed as a free agent by the San Diego Chargers. Beginning in 1998, Ivey worked as a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach, at the University of Missouri. He started his graduate assistantship after spending time with Denver Broncos and during his time with the Green Bay Packers in 1999. His wife, Dr. Starla Ivey, is a college professor and they have 2 daughters, Paisli and Serena.
Dr. Amber Selking | The Selking Group
As a former soccer player at the University of Notre Dame where she graduated with a Management Consulting degree, Dr. Selking started her career in human resources with a global manufacturing company. After recognizing a similar performance dynamic in business as she experienced in sport, she returned to graduate school to better understand the art and science of human high performance. She received a master’s degree in Sport & Performance Psychology from the University of Denver, and her PhD in Applied Sport & Performance Psychology from the University of Missouri. Dr. Selking founded the Selking Performance Group, where their mission is to help individuals, sports teams, and business organizations unleash performance excellence by tapping into the power of Mindset and Leadership. She speaks to organizations across the country, and serves as the mental performance consultant to Head Coach Brian Kelly and the Notre Dame Football team. She has also served as an adjunct professor in the business school at ND. Amber joined Lippert Components, Inc. in 2018, a publicly-traded, global manufacturing company headquartered in Elkhart, IN where she serves as the Vice President of Leadership & Culture Development. Their corporate vision is to help make Business a Force for Good in our world; their mission is to change the model of work in the world, demonstrating that we can truly care for people AND make a profit. Combined, her expertise is in optimizing human performance by teaching people about how their brain works, providing strategies to build mindsets that facilitate success, and partnering with leaders to build people systems that are most conducive to high performance. Dr. Selking also hosts a podcast called “Building Championship Mindsets,” which has over 100k downloads, and has been utilized around the world, including Johannesburg, South Africa to build productive mindsets in their young people. Amber grew up raising livestock in a small town in northeastern Pennsylvania, and now lives in South Bend, IN with her husband, Aaron, and their Doberman Pinscher, Rockne.
