Strategies for the Jumpball: Work on it everyday, spend 5 minutes before practice with your special teams coach working on jump balls and the timing. Put in a play if you know you are going to lose the jump ball, put your players back and run a run and jump out of it when they tip it back or set up in your 1/2 court trap. Can you find a jump ball specialist? Lacrosse teams have face off guys that only do face offs and actually get a scholarship out of it. However, I get it there isn't many jump balls in basketball
compared to LAX, but if you believe that every possession matters, try to find a guy or girl. If you have a kid that is big and athletic, but can't play- this might be for him or her.
