Description: Technical skiing demonstration of bigger turns in slushy spring moguls and crud...
CAUTION: Skiing bumpy and ungroomed terrain can lead to fits of uncontrolled giggling!
In this off-piste skiing demonstration the focus is on flexion and extension movements to adapt to the variations in terrain. A great tactic to challenge your decision making and pressure controls skills while skiing.
Notice how the skier tries to keep a tight core to help stabilize the upper body. Tension is kept in the legs to keep the skis loaded through the soft slushy snow but the feet act like sensors so the joints can flex or release when a mogul or bump gets in the way.
The skier is looking ahead to determine what tactics will be required for the coming terrain. Sometimes flexing to absorb bumps, sometimes pre-jumping if the mogul is to large to absorb... or occasionally popping off a bump and over a trough if the bumps have a steep wall or are too close together.
