    Defensive Backs

     view description
    • What/Why: A drill used to help our position players go back on fly balls.

      Who: Any position player.

      Where: On field or indoors.

      When: Any time of year.

      How: Demo in video.

Coaching cues: Watch the drop step, the player should open up their hips close to angle the angle the ball is hit. We don't want to see any back peddling. They should the run underneath it and get behind it if possible. After the catch we want to see footwork back toward the infield assuming that we have another play to make. We can do this drill to the glove side or to the arm side as well as straight back.
