Lesson 4:
Transition Volleys
In this lesson, players are encouraged to engage in long rallies while focusing on transition volleys. The instructor emphasizes staying on the service line and stepping into the volley while maintaining the ability to recover quickly. Participants are taught to overcome common errors, such as hitting the ball into the net, by intentionally aiming for longer shots and taking the ball early, particularly focusing on hitting it way out in front. The lesson progresses to more advanced techniques, including Romanian volleys, where players shadow each other and work on mirroring opposite corners of the court. Through intense drills and adjustments tailored to individual skill levels, players learn to master the art of transition volleys, crucial for effective gameplay on the tennis court.
