Lesson 7:

Perfect for younger players!
Instructions:
Get a group of players together in a circle. Give each player a number (i.e. 5 players in a group, then number 1 through 5).
Coach then tells the players that every the ball is thrown players must be working on correct fundamentals.
When ball is thrown, the coach calls out the number of the player who is to try to catch the ball.
If the player misses the ball or has poor fundamentals, then the player is assigned a letter (i.e. P, I, G). When a player receives all the letters, that player is out of the game.
Variations:
Fly ball – Each player in group should work on walk-in approach or hop in approach, before ball is thrown. When ball is thrown, the coach calls out the number of the player who is to try to catch the ball. Players should focus on having glove fingertips pointed up (not off to the side). Two hands to catch the ball. Try to catch it over the forehead.
Ground ball – Each player should work on walk-in approach. When ball is thrown, the coach calls out the number of the player who is to try to catch the ball. Player should focus on triangle receiving and soft hands.
