A-Gap Power may have a cutback
Differences betwee traditional Power and Power Read:
The A-Gap Power may have a cutback. The backside linebacker is the responsibility of the front side combination. The offensive linemen on the Duece block (Guard and Tackle) are defending a vertical line. Until that backside linebacker attacks it, they do not want to come off the double team. This allows them to get good vertical movement on the double team. If the backside linebacker gets over the top of the combo, there is a huge void and he is taught to fill that cavity.
