Defense has a horizontal demeanor on Power Read
Differences between traditional Power and Power Read:
The defense is now in more of a horizontal demeanor. While they do have a downhill run to defend, initial keys will move them horizontally. Safeties who may have been filling downhill on the Power must respect the threat on the perimeter with the sweep phase. Linebackers need to adjust and run to get outside. Option football responsibilities will come into play, and the mesh point, runner paths, and decisions by the offense are critical for an effective play.
