CHRIS WHATLEY - Hallsville HS
My name is Chris Whatley, I am in my 10th year at Hallsville High School where I have enjoyed coaching both baseball and football. I graduated from Garland High School in 2001 and played four years of college baseball. I played two years at Murray State College and finished my last two years at The University of Arkansas-Monticello. I am married to Kayla Whatley, who also attended UAM and is currently Hallsville’s head softball coach. We have two daughters Kinsler (4) Kabryn (2). I come from a coaching family, my dad Terry Whatley coached at Katy, Mabank, and Garland High schools under Joe Martin. My brother Matt is currently the Head Baseball coach at W.T. White High School.
MATT WHATLEY - WT White HS
Coach Whatley grew up in Garland, Tx. Matt’s baseball playing background includes being a 4-year starter at Garland High School where he was a 3-time All-District Catcher with his Senior year being All Area, and All-State. Matt then went on to Texarkana Junior College where he played in the JUCO World Series, and then to Univ of Arkansas Monticello and in 2008 to Stephen F Austin State University. Coach Whatley was a 4year assistant to Hall of Fame Coach David Shepherd, and for the past 7 years has been the Head Coach at W.T. White High School in Dallas, Tx. Coach Whatley and his beautiful wife Christine have 3 children, Wyatt (8), Walker (7), and Scout (4).
