Jason Pillion, Head Boys Coach at Amarillo High School discusses and demonstrates how the 5 Out Motion Offense has made his program so successful with five District Championships, three Regional Tournaments and one State Tournament Appearance. Coach Pillion is a graduate of Abilene Cooper High School and graduated and played basketball at West Texas A&M. He has 19 years of coaching experience, 13 of those as a head coach. He has been at Amarillo High School for the last 15 years.
This is not a dribble drive offense, this is an offense designed around motion principals with an emphasis on a 5 out lineup. Coach Pillion discusses the flexibility and personnel reasonings behind the offense and he believes the two toughest things to defend in Basketball are one, ball Movement and two, people movement, both of which encompass this offense. The videos goes into detail about the 5 game rules and principals, drills used to teach 5 game, and specific situations around the offense.
