Building A Defensive System with Nicki Collenby Nicki Collen
Defensive systems in basketball refer to the alignments, positioning, and defensive schemes that are put in place in order to prevent an opponent from scoring. To play good defense in basketball, you must have quickness, footwork, and deep knowledge of the fundamentals. Throughout the course of a game, teams can employ several defensive strategies, but all fall into one of three categories: man-to-man, zone, or combination defenses.
