Cameron Hill ‘99 will be in his tenth season at the helm of Trinity women’s basketball when the 2021-22 campaign gets under way.

A former Tiger men’s basketball standout, Coach Hill was appointed to the position prior to the 2012-13 campaign. He has amassed an overall record of 193-44 (.814) and stands at 111-17 (.867) in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). All of Coach Hill’s teams have won at least 20 games during his time as head coach (except the abbreviated 2021 spring season where the Tigers only competed in 12 games).

The Tigers have captured the SCAC Championship Tournament four times and posted a “three-peat” from 2016 to 2018. It marked the first time a team won the title three times in a row since DePauw (IN) University accomplished the feat from 2006-2008. Trinity also won the conference championship in 2013, Coach Hill’s first year as head coach.

The Tigers have also earned a slot in the NCAA Division III Playoffs five times under Coach Hill’s leadership, including the 2020 season. Trinity had a run of three straight years from 2016 through 2018. The 2016-17 team advanced to the NCAA Round of 16 and finished with a 28-2 record, tying a school mark for single-season victories. 

Coach Hill was elected the 2016-17 D3hoops.com South Region Coach of the Year and was selected as SCAC Coach of the Year for the second time. He also was tabbed as the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Small College Coach of the Year.
