Ramsey Ghazal - Glen Rose HS GIRLS 

Coach Ghazal has been a head girls’ basketball coach in Texas for the past 21 years.  He has amassed a career record of 600-134 over those 21 years.  He has been selected Wichita Falls Times Record News Coach of the year 4 times, GM Sports Media Metroplex Coach of the Year in 2023, TABC Outstanding 4A Coach of the Year Finalist in 2020, and TABC Dean Weese Outstanding 5A Coach of the Year in 2014.

Coach Ghazal is a 1993 graduate of Crowell High School and a 1998 graduate of Midwestern State University.  He began his coaching career in Quanah, Texas and has made head coaching stops in Celina and Olney, Texas.  In 2010, Coach Ghazal took over the Wichita Fall Rider Lady Raider program that had not made the playoffs in 22 years. In his six seasons at Rider, Coach Ghazal qualified for the playoffs each year, won four district championships and advanced to the regional tournament for the first time in Rider’s history where they lost to eventual state champions Canyon Lady Eagles in 2014 and 2015.

For the past 7 seasons, Coach Ghazal has been at Glen Rose High School where his Lady Tigers have won 4 district titles.  In 2016, they qualified for the Regional Tournament for the first time since 1992. The Lady Tigers have made two more trips to the regional tournament earning the first trip to the state tournament since 1953 this past season.  The Lady Tigers finished the season with a 39-2 mark and lost to the eventual state champion Waco La Vega 50-48 in the state semifinals.

Coach Ghazal has been fortunate to coach 18 All-State players and 11 who went onto collegiate careers.

Coach Ghazal lives in Glen Rose with his wife Stephanie and their three children, Sawyer, Slaton, and Renna.
