The Coach
Lisa serves as head coach of the Canadian Women's National Team, having held the position since being appointed in 2013. In international play, she has lead the program to Pan Am and FIBA Americas gold medals in 2015, and 7th place finishes in both the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2018 FIBA World Cup. Under her leadership, the Canadian Women's team will enter the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as the fourth ranked national program in the world.
Lisa Thomaidis is also the head coach of the University of Saskatchewan women's basketball team. Since taking over prior to the 1998-99 season, she has lead the Huskies to two U Sports National Championships (2015-16 and 2019-20) and seven Canada West titles. She is the winningest coach in program history (281) and has lead the program to the U Sports Final 8 a total of 13 times.
