Coach Young has been an assistant coach under some pretty notable head coaches such as Rick Pitino's son Richard who he was on staff within Minnesota. Now he resides on staff at UCONN next to coach Dan Hurley who comes from the legendary Hurley coaching family. After his career at UTEP where he was one of only 22 players to score over 1,000 points, he went on to become a video coordinator with St. John's. From there he began his assistant coaching career with FIU, then Minnesota, and now UCONN. Coach Young has come into contact with so many legendary coaches and he continually uses the information taught to him to best help the teams that he coaches for. His skills and knowledge are an invaluable asset for the UCONN Huskies Men's Basketball team.
