The Coach
I grew up in Canyon and graduated from Canyon High School and West Texas A&M University. My wife, Jennifer, and I have been married for 24 years. We have three amazing kids: Kinleigh is a Junior at Texas Tech, Bryson will be a junior at Shallowater, and Braxton will be an 8th grader. We have lived in Shallowater for two years, following teaching jobs in Godley, Canyon, Panhandle, Abilene Wylie, and Spearman. I have just completed my 24th year overall in education and have been a head coach for 18 of those years.
I had the opportunity to work for and learn from two incredible mentors: Joe Lombard at Canyon High School and Bob Schneider at West Texas A&M University. A profound influence on my coaching philosophy of offensive fundamentals and tough defense was learned from them. I have had the privilege of coaching in 10 Regional Tournaments and 5 State Tournaments, and we were able to capture my first gold medal as a head coach and Shallowater’s third state championship in 2024.
