Coach Rashon Burno, the head coach of Northern Illinois University men's basketball, has brought passion and a winning mentality to the program since taking the helm in 2021. Known for his emphasis on discipline and resilience, Burno has quickly instilled a competitive culture within the Huskies, focused on defensive intensity and player development.

Prior to joining NIU, Burno was an assistant coach at Arizona State, where he was instrumental in recruiting and developing top talent, helping the Sun Devils reach multiple NCAA Tournaments. A former standout guard at DePaul University and a New Jersey native, Burno’s coaching journey also includes successful stints at Florida and Towson. His experience as both a player and coach has shaped his commitment to fostering success on and off the court, making him a respected leader and mentor in college basketball.
