The Coach
Coach Kimble McHone has spent 32 years in the teaching and coaching profession. He has spent the last 17 years at Boerne High School where he is the head boys’ basketball coach, assists with football, and teaches American Government and Economics. Coach McHone graduated from Texas A&M University in 1990 with a degree in Kinesiology. Before coaching in Boerne, he coached at Uvalde High School and Snook High School. On December 5th of 2020 he won his 400th career game. He now has recorded 450 wins. His teams at Boerne High School have won, or shared, nine district championships, eleven area championships, advanced to the regional tournament four times (2010, 2018, 2020 and 2021), and advanced to the State Semifinals this past year. Coach McHone is the son of former San Antonio Spurs Head Coach, Mo McHone. He is married to Kari, who is a first-grade teacher in Boerne ISD. He and Kari have two children. Griffin is the Director of Operations for the men's basketball team at Kennesaw State and Ellie is a junior at Texas A&M University.
