Strength and Conditioning for Field Hockey

by Henry Davies
Strength and Conditioning for Field Hockey

Description

Field hockey is a fast-paced, high-intensity sport that challenges athletes physically, physiologically, and mentally. As the game continues to evolve with rule changes and advancements in playing surfaces, understanding its physical demands is essential.

Strength training is a proven method for enhancing athleticism, power, and overall performance across various sports.

Speed is a crucial factor in field hockey, enabling players to win footraces, create space on the field, and increase goal-scoring opportunities while also reducing defensive threats.

This course explores key strength and conditioning principles from a performance perspective and provides strategies for improving these attributes through a well-structured strength and conditioning programme.
