This book gives you 100 different empty formations you can use to help your team. These are formations we used in my time as a Head Football Coach. I was fortunate to be a successful offensive play caller. We scored a lot of points and were able to stay unique, multiple, and give defenses problems. I would constantly get asked about our offense. Here are some reminders I told myself as an offensive play caller:
- Use Formations/Shifts/Motions to run your best plays. Always think of a new way to run your best play before you make up a new play.
- Put the strength (TE, Trips, etc.) into the boundary occasionally and make them chose Field or Strength.
- Avoid their good players. You do not have magical plays. It is about the players.
This book will give you ideas on how to do better with all three of these things!
Lessons
The Coach
Chris Parker served as a Head Football Coach, Athletic Director, and school District Athletic Director for many years. He was the Head Football Coach at Chapel Hill High School in Douglasville, GA from 2008-11 and Pickens High School in Jasper, GA from 2012-18. He took over both schools when they were struggling and turned them into winning programs. Teams at both schools set school records for wins, playoff appearances, and playoff production. He led the best seasons in school history at both schools and helped them both win their first state playoff game in school history.
As Athletic Director of Pickens County Schools, Coach Parker presided over all sports programs in the district. During his time as District AD, the district pursued many capital improvements to the athletic facilities, set new highs for money raised, championships, and scholarship athletes.
He is currently the Director of Human Resources for the Pickens County School District in Georgia. Coach Parker also acts as a consultant for coaches and Athletic Directors through Parker & Co Resources, LLC. You can follow Coach Parker on social media
