Austin Armstrong
Defensive Coordinator, University of Houston
Austin Armstrong joined the University of Houston as defensive coordinator in 2025 after serving as defensive coordinator at Florida, where he became the youngest defensive coordinator in the SEC at the time of his hire. A proven defensive coach and developer of talent, Armstrong has helped produce numerous all conference selections while leading defenses at Florida and Southern Miss that consistently ranked among the nation's best in turnovers, sacks, tackles, tackles for loss, and red zone defense.
Prior to becoming a coordinator, Armstrong gained experience at Georgia and Louisiana, helping those programs reach conference championship games, bowl appearances, and the 2019 Sugar Bowl.
Armstrong earned his degree from Huntingdon College, where he was a four year linebacker. He is married to his wife, Tiffany.
