The Coach

Brandon Jones joined the University of Missouri football staff in April 2023 as the offensive line coach, bringing with him over 15 years of experience in coaching. A standout center at Texas Tech during the mid-2000s, Jones has built a distinguished career working alongside some of the most respected names in college football, including Sonny Dykes, Dana Holgorsen, Kliff Kingsbury, and Lincoln Riley. Before arriving at Missouri, Jones spent four successful seasons at the University of Houston, where he served as the offensive line coach, co-offensive coordinator, and run game coordinator.

During his tenure at Houston, Jones developed one of the most formidable offensive lines in the American Athletic Conference. Under his guidance, five offensive linemen received All-American Athletic Conference honors a total of six times. Notably, left tackle Patrick Paul became the first Cougar in conference history to be named first-team All-AAC multiple times. Jones’s coaching also propelled several players to the NFL, including Josh Jones, who was drafted in the third round by the Arizona Cardinals, and Kody Russey, who earned a spot with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent.

Jones’s impact on the teams he has coached is evident in their performance improvements. At Houston, his offensive line played a crucial role in leading The American in pass blocking, while also paving the way for multiple 100-yard rushing performances despite injuries. Prior to Houston, Jones made significant contributions at Texas Tech and Cal, where his units ranked among the best nationally in offensive production. His coaching philosophy, rooted in discipline, technique, and a deep understanding of the game, has consistently translated into success on the field, making him one of the most respected offensive line coaches in college football.
