Don Dobes has an extensive 44-year career in college coaching, with 35 years spent in the Ivy League, including a significant tenure at Dartmouth. During his time at Dartmouth as the defensive coordinator and linebacker coach, he contributed to the team's success, including several Ivy League championship seasons and notable improvements in defensive rankings. Dobes has been instrumental in developing strong defensive units particularly in areas like scoring defense, red zone defense, and pass efficiency defense.

Before Dartmouth, Dobes had a successful coaching career at Princeton, where he helped the Tigers to Ivy championships and coached numerous players to All-Ivy recognition. He also gained experience at Temple University, Rice University, and Rowan University, showcasing his versatility and expertise across various coaching roles. Dobes' coaching journey began at Penn, where he contributed to multiple Ivy League championships. A graduate of Illinois Wesleyan and DePauw, Dobes has a strong academic background to complement his coaching achievements.
