Jalon Bibbs became a member of the coaching staff at South Dakota State University in 2023, where he is responsible for coaching the defensive line of the Jackrabbits. Before joining SDSU, Bibbs served as the defensive line coach at Grand Valley State, an NCAA Division II program that has a strong track record of success. Under Bibbs' leadership, the team achieved an impressive 40-8 record over four seasons and made three postseason appearances. Bibbs was instrumental in developing a formidable defense, with the team ranking in the top 10 of various defensive categories, including leading Division II in red-zone defense and the fewest passing touchdowns allowed in 2019. He also mentored several all-conference defensive linemen and two All-Americans at GVSU.

Apart from his coaching duties, Bibbs also held the position of academic and travel coordinator at Grand Valley State. Returning to South Dakota has a special significance for Bibbs, as he played college football and coached in the area previously. In 2017, he coached the defensive line at Northern State, his alma mater, and contributed to the team's 6-5 record. Bibbs began his coaching journey as the outside linebackers coach at St. Cloud State, where he helped several players earn All-Northern Sun Individual honors. He also served as the assistant academic director for athletic and multicultural success at St. Cloud State, demonstrating his commitment to academic excellence.
