Jason Couch, a graduate of Alma College, has been the Head Football Coach at Alma since 2018, marking his sixth season in 2023. Under Couch's leadership, Alma has achieved significant success, including back-to-back perfect seasons, MIAA Conference Championships, and NCAA Tournament appearances. Couch's coaching career began at Romeo High School, where he served as co-head coach and offensive coordinator for 15 seasons, leading the team to consistent playoff appearances, conference titles, and a state championship in 2015. His coaching prowess has earned him numerous accolades, including Coach of the Year honors and recognition for community service initiatives.

Before his coaching career, Couch was an accomplished player at Alma College, where he excelled as a center and received All-MIAA First Team honors and an honorable mention All-American title. He continued his involvement in football through coaching positions at various high schools before returning to Alma as head coach. Couch's impact extends beyond the field, as he has been recognized for his teaching contributions at Romeo High School and received nominations for State of Michigan Teacher of the Year. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Alma College and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Saginaw Valley State University.
