Jason Eck, in his second season as head coach of Vandal football, led the team to a remarkable 7-4 record and secured a postseason spot after a successful first year. The Vandals triumphed in key rivalry games, showcasing their prowess under Eck's leadership. Notably, fifteen Vandal players received All-Big Sky honors, including Hayden Hatten's consensus All-American recognition as a wide receiver.

Under Eck's guidance, the Vandal offense experienced a significant boost, scoring 35.92 points per game compared to 25.36 in the previous season. Defensively, the team also showed improvement, holding opponents to 25.42 points per game. Eck's recruiting efforts resulted in a top-10 class among FCS schools.

Before joining Idaho, Eck garnered extensive coaching experience at South Dakota State, where he contributed to multiple playoff runs and a national championship game appearance. Known for his offensive prowess, Eck's teams consistently ranked among the top in scoring offense and rushing offense, showcasing his strategic decision.

Eck's coaching journey began as an offensive line coach, gradually taking on roles as an offensive coordinator and head coach. He brings a wealth of experience and a winning mindset to the Vandal program, embodying a dedication to excellence both on and off the field.
