The Coach
Joe Conlin, who served as associate head coach/offensive coordinator at Yale for four years, was named head football coach at Fordham University on December 22, 2017. The Fordham offense was top in the Patriot League as well as 14th in the NCAA FCS in total offense. He Coached a Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year.
Defensively in 2020-2021, the Rams were paced by Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year junior linebacker Ryan Greenhagen, one of three first team All-League selections for Fordham. The Rams led the Patriot League in fumbles recovered, passes intercepted, passing yards allowed, and red zone defense.
Conlin, who also served as the offensive line coach, did great things with the guys up front. The stats tell most of the story, but there are other accomplishments. His 2013 (and 2014) starting five began every game, the only Ivy League school to accomplish that. Most of Conlin's coaching experience was at FCS power New Hampshire, where he helped the Wildcats to seven straight NCAA playoff appearances.
