Joe Moorhead serves as the head football coach at the University of Akron, a position he has held since December 2021. Under his leadership, the Zips have been striving to rebuild their program in the competitive Mid-American Conference (MAC).

Before joining Akron, Moorhead was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at the University of Oregon from 2020 to 2021, where he played a pivotal role in enhancing the Ducks' offensive performance.Moorhead's coaching career also includes a successful period as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Penn State University from 2016 to 2017, where he was instrumental in revitalizing the Nittany Lions' offense.Throughout his career, Moorhead has been recognized for his offensive acumen and leadership, consistently improving team performance and mentoring players to reach their full potential.
