The Coach
Promoted to head coach of the Wayne State football program in February 2022, Logan Masters is the 23rd head coach in the 105-year history of Wayne State football. Masters served the previous two years as offensive coordinator, coaching WSC to a 7-4 record in the 2021 and the schools’ first national ranking in a decade. Under Masters, in 2021, the WSC offense ranked third in the NSIC in rushing offense with 182.1 yards per game and 414.5 yards per game in total offense. In his previous three seasons at Chadron State College, Masters’ offense accomplished three straight winning seasons and coached Chadron State’s first-ever 3,000 yard passer. Masters started as a graduate assistant, tight ends coach, and wide recievers coach before serving two years as offensive coordinator before departing for Chadron State College. A native of Storm Lake, Iowa, Masters attended Wayne State College and had a standout playing career at wide receiver from 2006-09, helping the Wildcats make two post season appearances while setting nearly every receiving record at WSC. Masters, inducted into the WSC Athletic Hall of Fame in 2021, and his wife Amber reside in Wayne with their four sons – Lincoln, Langston, Leyton and Lawyer.
