Ron Roberts, a seasoned coach with over 30 years of experience, joined the Florida Gators in January 2024 as the executive head coach, co-defensive coordinator, and linebackers coach. Before Florida, he served as the defensive coordinator at Auburn in 2023, where he led the Tigers' defense to significant improvements, including top-50 rankings in scoring defense, sacks, tackles-for-loss, and total defense. Auburn also excelled in third-down defense and red zone defense under Roberts' leadership. Prior to Auburn, Roberts spent three years at Baylor, where his defensive strategies helped the team secure a Big 12 Title and a New Year's Six bowl victory. His defenses at Baylor were consistently among the best in the nation, particularly excelling in interceptions, turnovers gained, and scoring defense.

Before Baylor, Roberts was the defensive coordinator at Louisiana under Billy Napier, leading the team to strong defensive performances and conference championship appearances. As head coach at Southeastern Louisiana from 2012-17, Roberts led the team to two conference championships and FCS playoff berths. Earlier in his career, he had a successful tenure at Delta State, guiding the team to multiple playoff appearances and a national championship game. A native of Visalia, California, Roberts began his coaching career at Houston High School in Tennessee and played linebacker at UT Martin. He holds a master's degree from the University of Memphis and is married to Didi Walker, with whom he has three children.
