The Coach

Cal Dietz
Associate Director of Athletic Performance at the University of Minnesota since 2000, Dietz primarily works with the Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey teams. He’s helped numerous programs achieve 11 NCAA Championships and 35 B1G/WCHA titles. A former two-sport athlete at the University of Findlay, Dietz holds a Master’s in Education from the University of Minnesota. He is certified as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and is also certified in Reflexive Performance Reset (RPR). He resides in Hudson, WI, with his children, Tatum and Brody.

Kevin Neeld
Director of Performance for the Boston Bruins, Neeld oversees all performance training and sports science initiatives. Previously, he worked with the San Jose Sharks, U.S. Women’s Olympic Ice Hockey Team, and a private performance facility. Neeld holds a PhD in Human and Sport Performance, has authored books on hockey training, and is certified in several disciplines. He serves on multiple professional boards and has spoken at major events like those hosted by the NHL and NSCA.

Brijesh Patel
Associate Athletic Director and Director of Athletic Performance at Quinnipiac University, Coach B oversees strength and conditioning for all 21 varsity sports. He has previously worked at Holy Cross, UConn, and Mike Boyle Strength & Conditioning. Known for building a culture of improvement, Coach B’s athletes have earned All-Conference honors and professional contracts. He has mentored many young coaches and has recently won the NSCA Coach of the Year. He holds certifications in RPR, USA Weightlifting, and more.

Maria Mountain
A highly experienced Exercise Physiologist, Maria Mountain has specialized in helping goalies improve performance and recover from injuries since 2001. She founded Revolution Sport Conditioning and later GoalieTrainingPro.com. Maria has worked with NHL and Olympic athletes and is a sought-after speaker. Her "Inside-Out" approach focuses on injury prevention and performance training, helping athletes return stronger after injury. She sold Revolution in 2019 to focus on goalie training worldwide.

Scott Leech
Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Rhode Island, Leech oversees football, women’s tennis, and track & field. Previously, he worked at Merrimack College and Springfield College. Leech is certified by the NSCA, holds advanced certifications in Reflexive Performance Reset, and is pursuing a master’s in Data Science. He played football at Springfield College, earning academic honors and leadership recognition.

Matt Kelly
A physiotherapist with a background in hockey, Matt Kelly specializes in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance training. With experience at Dalhousie University and the Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic, he founded BE ELITE High Performance Therapy. Kelly works with elite athletes and contributes to hockey-related research, focusing on hip, shoulder, and back injuries, and continues to educate through workshops and courses.

Alex Allan

Owner and Director of Performance at Bold Athlete, a company he co-founded in 2012 with Simon Docherty. Allan has been coaching athletes since 2012, specializing in working with beginner and intermediate athletes to build foundational physical and mental skills. He has served as the Head Strength Coach for teams such as the University of Calgary Men's Hockey, NWCAA Flames U18, and GHC Fire U18. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurship from the University of Alabama in Huntsville between 2010 and 2014. Allan's coaching philosophy emphasizes creativity, personal growth, and fostering a sense of community. He finds fulfillment in watching younger athletes achieve their lifelong goals and attributes his passion for coaching to his lifelong involvement in sports and leadership roles.

Corey Petersen
Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning at St. Thomas University, Petersen previously worked at the University of Minnesota and Stanford University. He also served as a Sport Science Network Professional with the U.S. Soccer Federation. Petersen has experience with elite athletes and is dedicated to helping athletes achieve their highest performance.

Charlie Bando
Founder of Bando Performance, Charlie has worked with NHL and NCAA athletes, including NHL stars and Stanley Cup champions. He has held coaching positions at the Northern Junior Cyclones, Harvard, and Prentiss Hockey Performance. Charlie specializes in strength and conditioning for hockey players and directs services for the Boston Fleet and Worcester Railers. Bando Performance now spans multiple locations across Massachusetts.
