RunnerDude's Beginning Running Programby Thad McLaurin
12-Week Beginning Running Program will take you from no running to running 30
minutes solid by the end of the 12 weeks. The program's focus is building
endurance, not pace or distance, making it perfect for beginners. The program
consists of several videos covering Form, Function, Gear, and The Plan.
You will need a good pair of running shoes and a watch or interval timer. I recommend the GYMBOSS interval timer (www.gymboss.com) or any phone app interval timer will do as well. You'll also need to download the 12-week plan, Ten Tips for Beginning Runners, Good Running Form and stretching handouts (all included in pdf format).
Thad has worked with hundreds of beginning runners. His mission is to get beginners into running safely while at the same time, building their endurance gradually over a period of time. Thad wants you to love running and to continue it beyond the 12-week program. Running is hard, but his program will ease you into it so you won't be mentally or physically overwhelmed. Thad is a certified RRCA running coach, a USATF certified running coach as well as a NPTI and ACSM certified personal trainer. He's the owner of RunnerDude's Fitness (www.runnerdudesfitness.com), a personal training studio and running coaching facility in Greensboro, NC.
