Description

Coaching isn’t just about X’s and O’s. It’s about building athletes who can handle pressure, respond to failure, and show up with the right mindset when it matters most.

In this course, a veteran high school coach and Olympic softball medalist shares the exact systems, language, and leadership principles she uses to develop mentally tough, accountable athletes and a team culture that holds the line on standards. Through powerful real-life stories and practical coaching tools, you’ll learn how to move athletes from fear-based performance into confidence-based execution.

You’ll also learn how to coach the moments that decide games: when athletes get tight, spiral after one mistake, or mentally fold before the competition even starts. Whether you coach tennis, softball, volleyball, basketball, or any sport, these mindset and culture strategies translate immediately.

You’re not getting theory. You’re getting real coaching solutions tested in seasons, playoff moments, and elite performance environments.

The Coach

Christa Williams-Yates is a veteran high school coach with approximately 20–21 years of coaching experience, including time in the private school sector. She has coached at multiple schools over the years and is currently in her third year at Kingwood, following previous coaching stops at Manvel and Friendswood.

A former elite athlete, Christa competed at the highest level, representing the United States in the Olympic Games in 1996 and 2000. She made her first U.S. national team as a teenager and speaks candidly about the pressure, expectations, and mental challenges that came with competing at an elite level from a young age.

In her coaching, Christa emphasizes consistency, accountability, preparation, and mental toughness. She focuses on placing athletes in pressure situations to reveal mindset, build confidence, and develop resilience. She believes athletes take on a coach’s attitude and personality and stresses the importance of effort, focus, respect, and responsibility both on and off the field.

Christa is also a parent of two children, one of whom plays for her. She describes herself as blunt, highly competitive, and deeply committed to helping athletes grow not only as players but also as people.
