7 Seconds or Less Offense

7 Seconds or Less Offense

Description

7 Seconds or Less

Transition offense is a tool that can cripple the opposing team. There are many faces of a transition game, it can be slow, a walk up floor transition or an aggressive fast break. In order for a break to be impactful and effective, all players must follow up in a unit. Transition systems are designed to take advantage of an opponent's breakdown while they switch to defense.

Teams with a strong transition offense have the opportunity to score easier points than teams who can't attack on the break. It's vital that fast breaks happen before the defense has the time to set into their defensive scheme. Playing fast tires out the defense as well as sets the tempo of the game, while having a slower style of play makes it more difficult to get into rhythm and gain momentum.

Learn how to play fast, create a transition offense that creates easy points and a team who controls the tempo. Introducing University of Northern Colorado’s Steve Smileys..

** 7 seconds or less training**

Northern Colorado Head Coach Steve Smiley breaks down his whole concept on fast paced offense. He breaks down why this system is successful from an analytical standpoint and teaches us how to implement the system and tactics in our own offense.

The whole concept is to start the offense and attack the rim before the defense is set. He breaks down ways of implementing fast pace offense, as well as drills that he uses in practice every day.
