He uses his experiences at the high school, college, and professional levels to teach what it means to build a winning college within a basketball program. The Coach

Dan Hughes is the head coach for the Seattle Storm.

Prior to being hired in 2017, Hughes coached with the San Antonio Stars from 2005-09 and 2011-16 and guided the team to six playoff appearances with a WNBA Finals appearance in 2008. He also coached the Cleveland Rockers from 2000-03. 

Hughes also served on the USA Women's Basketball National Team Player Selection Committee from 2009-16 and was the Assistant Coach for 2018 National Team that won gold at the FIBA Women's World Cup.

Before his experience in the WNBA, Hughes was an assistanct coach at Toledo for the men's program from 1991-96 and for the women's program from 1996-97. During this tenure with the women's program, he won the MAC and made an NCAA Tournament appearance. 

Hughes attended Muskingum College and graduated in 1977 with a degree in physical education and history.
