Lindsay Gottlieb

Lindsay Gottlieb – USC Women’s Basketball Head Coach | NCAA Final Four Coach | Former NBA Assistant

Lindsay Gottlieb is the current head coach of the USC Trojans Women’s Basketball team, bringing elite experience from both the NBA and NCAA Division I basketball. Known for her leadership, player development, and postseason success, Gottlieb is one of the most respected coaches in women’s basketball today.

Before joining USC, Gottlieb made history as an assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers, becoming one of the first women to hold a full-time coaching position in the NBA.

Gottlieb previously served as head coach at the University of California, Berkeley, where she built the program into a national powerhouse. Over eight seasons, she led the Golden Bears to a 179-89 (.668) record, including seven NCAA Tournament appearances (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019). In 2013, she coached Cal to its first-ever Final Four and Elite Eight, becoming just the seventh coach since 1990 to reach the NCAA Women’s Final Four within her first two years at a program.

Her head coaching career began at UC Santa Barbara (2008–2011), where she earned Big West Coach of the Year honors in 2009, captured two Big West Championships, and compiled a strong 56-39 record.

Across more than a decade of Division I women’s basketball head coaching experience, Lindsay Gottlieb has developed All-Americans, WNBA talent, and championship-caliber teams. Now at USC, she continues to build a top-tier program focused on winning, player development, and academic excellence.
