Description

One of the most crucial things in developing great shooters is to make sure they are able to translate their shooting ability from practice and workouts, into real game like situations. UCONN Assistant Coach Kimani Young talks about implementing drills that will help to translate shooting into game situations. He breaks down drills that will help your players to shoot while tired, under pressure and in specific in-game situations.

The Coach

Kimani Young | Assistant Coach | UCONN

Coach Young has been an assistant coach under some pretty notable head coaches such as Rick Pitino's son Richard who he was on staff within Minnesota. Now he resides on staff at UCONN next to coach Dan Hurley who comes from the legendary Hurley coaching family. After his career at UTEP where he was one of only 22 players to score over 1,000 points, he went on to become a video coordinator with St. John's. From there he began his assistant coaching career with FIU, then Minnesota, and now UCONN. Coach Young has come into contact with so many legendary coaches and he continually uses the information taught to him to best help the teams that he coaches for. His skills and knowledge are an invaluable asset for the UCONN Huskies Men's Basketball team.
