Matt Jackson just completed his 7th year as the head boys’ basketball coach at Lorena High School. Before arriving at Lorena, Coach Jackson spent 2 years as the boys’ basketball coach at Odessa High School and 5 years as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Amarillo High School, where he played for John Smith and worked for current Sandies’ basketball coach Jason Pillion. In the past 7 seasons at Lorena, the Leopards have an overall record of 131-74 and have reached the playoffs every year with 4 District Championships, 3 Regional Tournament and 2Regional Quarter-Finals appearances. Coach Jackson’s teams are known for their toughness, discipline, smart decision making and for being relentless on the defensive end. The past 3seasons, the Leopards have held their opponents to 42.6 ppg with an amazing 40.1 ppg during the 21-22 season. Coach Jackson has been married to his wife Leah for 15 years and has a 13-year-old daughter, Carter, and a 10-year-old son, Myles.
