by New Jersey Basketball Coaches Association (NJBCA)
Quick-Strike Transition Offense with Coquese Washington

Description

Learn how to turn defense and rebounds into instant scoring with Coach Coquese Washington’s Quick-Strike Transition Offense — a complete system designed to attack before the defense can recover. Across nine focused lessons, Coach Washington breaks down every element of her offensive philosophy, from floor spacing to advanced transition reads.

You’ll start with the Anatomy of the Shot Clock, understanding how Rutgers segments possessions (Quick Strike, Motion, Butter, Hero Ball) to maintain tempo and clarity. Then, you’ll build spacing habits with the Red-Light/Green-Light drill, ensuring your players sprint to corners, lanes, and trail spots in under four seconds.

Through step-by-step lessons, you’ll master seven scoring “looks”:

  • Rim Run – how to finish before the defense sets

  • Pancake Post – flatten and seal when the rim is protected

  • Wing Attack – using pass-ahead spacing for early drives

  • Downhill Push – teaching rebounders to advance coast-to-coast

  • Trail Action – top-of-key shot, drive, or DHO

  • Weak & Drag Screens – creating quick side and middle ball-screen attacks\

By the end, you’ll be able to design and teach a fast, dynamic offensive system that creates advantage opportunities and consistent high-quality shots.
