Basketball Background from CoachUp profile

In addition to working as a skills trainer and private basketball coach, I've been an assistant and head coach at the high school varsity level for five years.  After my college playing career, I stayed on as an assistant coach at my alma mater, Northwest Christian University, for two seasons.  I've also coached and directed various basketball camps throughout California and Oregon for 12 years.  For the past 7 years, I've trained players in private and small group lessons through CoachUp and my coaching business, Green Light Basketball.

In 2018, I earned a Master's degree in Exercise Science with a focus in Sport Psychology.  I currently work as the Associate Head Men's Basketball Coach at Las Positas College (6th year there) where I also teach in the Kinesiology department.  In 2020, I created and launched "The Fearless Shooter Training: Your Basketball Shooting Blueprint", an online course covering all aspects of basketball shooting.  It is packaged into a 7-part video series and available on CoachTube.com or can be purchased in full with access to my 49-page e-book on my website, greenlightbasketball.com

Athletic Career Highlights

I've played competitive basketball since I was 12 years old.  As a high school player, I played on the varsity team for three seasons at Berean Christian High School, setting four school records in three-point shooting and free throw shooting.  I earned First Team All-League honors as a junior and senior.  In the offseason, I competed year-round and played for one of the premier AAU programs in the nation - the Oakland Soldiers.

After HS, I played two years of JUCO ball at Los Medanos College and led the conference in three-point percentage (42%) and free throw percentage (87%) as a sophomore.

From there, I was offered a scholarship to Northwest Christian University in Oregon.  I was a two-year starter there and the second-leading scorer on the team both years.  As a senior, I averaged 16 points per game against Division 1 opponents and was named to the Academic All-Conference team.  I finished my college career ranked second all-time in three pointers made in school history.

After college, I played for two semi-pro teams - the Oakland Showtime (now Bay Area Matrix) of the ABA and the Tualatin Rainmakers in Oregon.

Other awards include:

Cascade Collegiate Conference Player of the Week

Tournament MVP (William Jessup University Invitational)

Top Gun Award (team's top free throw shooter - 86%)

This course is awesome. One of the highlights for me was the "removing emotion from misses" segment. This is something that gets overlooked, in order to be a good shooter you have to be consistent and balanced in both technique and emotion. We are going to miss shots, we are going to make shots, all that matters is knocking down the look!

GREAT CONTENT HERE!! I have a unique background viewing this training in that I am an elementary school P.E. teacher and also ex-college/pro hooper. I’ve worked with kids at countless camps/schools of all ages and in different countries as well. Jordan’s attention to detail and communication is at a level kids can understand, yet is still effective enough for hoopers in High school on up. Jordan takes ideas, skills, and strategies I’ve heard from many different shooting coaches and compiles them into simple lines of thought and action, and does so with precision. He is a great communicator. He also does a great job of providing examples from top shooters in the world and then equips everyday shooters with the same manageable self checking methods. His demonstration techniques are concise and to the point, not over analyzing things into “10 steps for shooting” or line after line of basketball jargon. This will effectively help players steer clear of being “paralysis by analysis” shooters to “Fearless Green Light Shooters.” I have worked with Jordan while I was in college and beside the fact of him being a high level basketball mind, I would stack his character and work ethic up against anyone. If you are looking for quality, knowledgeable, and all age friendly shooting training GREEN LIGHT BASKETBALL is it.

The Fearless Shooter Training program really dives into the fundamentals of how to shoot properly and affectively. This shooting course is valuable for all age groups and skill levels. I particularly enjoyed the parts that discussed in detail the importance of mentality and emotion when shooting. Having the right mindset is huge and I personally really connected to the "focus on the process versus the results" section. Without a doubt, you will become a better shooter and a better teacher on how to shoot properly after watching this training program.

I’ve known Jordan for awhile now and he is still one of the best shooters I’ve played against or seen in general. I have been playing professionally overseas for 6+ years as well as coaching so I have been around a lot of players. Jordan still ranks very high in my list of top shooters. When you mix his personal shooting ability along with his coaching experience you can’t miss. This is a great program. It’s the perfect mix of teaching technical form mechanics along with the mental aspect of being a shooter that is easy for anyone to understand and apply. I would definitely recommend this program to anyone that is interested in becoming a better shooter.
