John E Parchman was born and raised in Lubbock County.  He attended Lubbock – Roosevelt High School, Cisco JC, Texas Tech, and Sul ross State University. 

Coach Parchman entered the coaching profession in 1972 as an assistant at Atlanta High School.  He also served as an assistant at Roosevelt, Dimmitt, Lubbock Coronado and Midland Lee.  As a head coach he built successful programs at Frenship, Cisco, EP Socorro, Llano and Midland Lee.  He experienced success at the very highest levels winning three 5-A State Championships and a USA Today National Championship.  As a college coach at Cisco College he made the NJCAA playoffs two of three years. 

Coach Parchman served on the Board of Directors of the THSCA.  He received numerous Coach of the Year awards and was name Fox Sports “Coach that makes a difference”.  In 2000 he was USA Today National Coach of the year. 

Coach has been married to his wife Diane for 43 years.  Together they have two daughters and four grandsons. 

They now live on a ranch in central Texas and do marketing projects for Propetro Services in Midland.
