Gerald Solorio Years: 23 Collegiate Alma Mater: BS Kinesiology, Minor in Biology University of North Texas A long-time coach and teacher in Dallas ISD, Gerald Solorio has been committed to teaching and coaching in the urban communities in Dallas. Coach Solorio has been teaching in Dallas ISD since 2000 where he taught 8th grade science and taught student athletes how to play soccer, softball, volleyball, and softball. He won the Dallas ISD City Championship for girls’ soccer in 2004 and was a runner up in 2011. As a volleyball coach he was city runner up four years straight from 2010-2014. In 2014 Coach Solorio switched to Moisés E. Molina High School. He has been an assistant cross-country coach since 2015. He was an assistant girls’ soccer coach for two years before he took over the girls varsity team in the fall of 2016. He won district in 2017, bi strict in 2017, 2018, and 2022. He won coach of the year honors in 2017 and 2022. He has an overall varsity record of 82-38-4. Coach Solorio has been married to Claudia for 22 years and they have two adult children, Leonardo, and Isaiah.
