From Little Dribblers to NCAA Division 1, Donna Capps is known for her coaching wins and country witticisms, Donna Capps’ coaching career spans the high school (North Mesquite, Mabank, Crandall, and Horn) and college (University of Texas at Arlington) levels.  Compiling an amazing 526/203 High School record and a 119/89 collegiate record, she is one of the most successful coaches in Texas high school girls’ basketball history.  The two-time Dallas Morning News Coach of the Year was also honored as the Dallas Times Herald Coach of the Year.  During her career she earned High School Women’s Coach of the Year honors by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches, Texas Girls Coaches Association and Baden Sports Inc.  As Head coach of UT Arlington, she was named the Southland Conference Coach of the Year, turning a struggling team into a NCAA Tournament contender (2005 & 2007). She is currently the Assistant Athletic Director for Mesquite ISD. Donna resides in Crandall, TX with her husband, Jon.  She has 2 grown children and five grandchildren.
