Tina Mattera is the Head Coach for the Tufts University field hockey program, where she has built one of the country's most elite teams over her 20-year career. A national championship-winning coach, she led the Jumbos to their first-ever NCAA Division III title in 2012, a victory that was also the first women's NCAA championship in Tufts history. Her success includes 11 NCAA appearances, five "Final Fours," and being named the NFHCA National Coach of the Year in 2012. Her championship-winning team was inducted into the Tufts Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022.

Beyond the field, Coach Mattera is a passionate advocate for community engagement. She has led the Tufts field hockey team in initiatives like hosting a Girls in Sports day for Big Sisters of Massachusetts Bay, conducting a clinic for adult Special Olympians in Athens, Greece, and actively participating in Team Impact, which connects youth facing illness or disability with collegiate programs. Her coaching philosophy extends beyond the game, emphasizing character development and a commitment to serving others.
