Brent Vigen became Montana State’s head football coach on February 8, 2021, and has quickly made history, securing 32 wins in his first three seasons—the most by any coach in the program's history. Vigen, who previously served as offensive coordinator at the University of Wyoming, has led the Bobcats to three consecutive FCS Playoff appearances and two semifinal berths. A former player and coach at North Dakota State University, Vigen helped transition the Bison from Division II to FCS dominance. His coaching career was influenced by his father, Randy, a Hall of fame coach. Under Vigen, Montana State’s offense has thrived, consistently ranking among the top in the FCS. His tenure has also seen numerous players earn national accolades and All-America honors. Vigen and his wife, Molly, a former NDSU basketball player, have three sons, including Jake, who plays for the Bobcats.
